lesson learned

This morning I decided to use my curling iron. I haven't used this thing in 3 years, I think. Last time my hair was long was 3 years ago. So anyways it sat on the sink for about a half hour. I wanted it good and hot. Well, Thayne has never seen it. He has only seen my hair straightener. He knows "no touch" on that hot object, but not the curling iron. We went to the bathroom to fix his hair and before I had a chance to tell him "no" he had already grabbed it full palm and 3 secs later started to cry. He threw it down and kept saying "no like mom, no like that, no like mom" We ran his hand under cold water for about 5 min. But, that only helped the pain as long as the water ran. As soon as it stoped he was back to crying. Poor little guy. He was so tuff. He walked around church with a cold pack in his right hand. He was fine as long as he was holding it. All thru church he would give it to me to hold and 2 seconds later he would take it back realizing letting go of the cold pack was not smart. He even took a nap holding it. His little hand is covered in blisters. The good thing is i got lots of hugs and cuddles from my big man.

just because family wants to know

OOOOOOHHHH!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! The aquirium! O.K. well it's nothing special, I mean seriously anything that shows a clam bed as a part of the exhibit and cat fish as the main exhibit is not something to bragg about. Welcome to redneck country. But Thayne loves it and in reality it's kinda cool. So this is the Flint River Aquirium in Albany, Ga. Kaydee likes turtles too! Or maybe she was afraid of them. She doesn't look very happy.

This blue bird is very social. He just came and landed on the tallest thing near by. My giant. I love him.
Our WILD THAYNE!!!!!

This week I sent in my business plan and got my business license. I'm on my way.

christmas

This is Montavis and Brycen. The two deaf boys I worked with. I quit my job and this is the last picture I got of them. I'm very excited to be home, but sad to leave to leave my boys. Montavis is the one I worked with the most. He was awsome. I will miss him. Anyways off to new things like photography.ChrChristmas Eve we went to see some friends on the east side of Georgia. Since Scott is a pilot we just flew over there for a few hours than flew home. It would have been a 4 hour drive. With flying it was 2 hours. On our way there 5 min before landing Thayne got sick. The good thing it was all over him and not the plane. Kaydee sat on my lap. It's a small plane and really only fits two people. but kids arn't big enough to count as adults. She did really well. slept half way and looked around the other half.Thayne sat in the cargo area. We stap in his car seat and he is a happy boy. He loves to fly with Dad. Kaydee helped fly. She was an excelent pilot.
Christmas ornament idea. Just use cheap craft paint. Paint your childs hand then let them grab the ornament. after it dries use a paint marker and add snowmen. We plan to do this every year.I made the boys stockings and was to lazy in doing teh girl stockings. So a good friend of ours owed me a favor, sh finished them for me. (don't worry robin I won't tell the whole story) Thayne really got excited about "cookies for Santa". When he woke up that was the first thing he looked at, then he saw the toys.

Yea gifts! I think he will really like Christmas.

Most people are familiar with this painting. " The Prayer at Valley Forge" Now we have it. We have been wanting it for a long time. now where to hang it?
Not to sure what to do yet.

Scott's mom made his blanket out of old t-shirts. And Thayne got a blanket from my mom with his name on it. Happy boys.

Great G-ma Farris gave Thayne Ernie. You tickle him and he rolls on the floor laughing. It is so funny. Thayne loves it!

After Christmas morning we went to Mema and Bobob's house for the kids to finish their christmas. These are our Landlord's and our kids adopted Grandparents. They are so sweet.

Thayne got a Magnadoodle

I accidnetally broke our nasty old Christmas Tree. Scott says I did it on purpose. I didn't. Either way i got a new tree. i went and bought the trees that have the lights already on them. Three pieces to put together. That's it. I love it! it is so easy to set up and super fast! This is Thayne in the tree box. he thought it was a fun toy!

i love this video!

WHAT? The beach in Dec?

So what did you do this weekend? Play in the snow? This is our snow. The beautiful white sands of the gulf. This weekend the weather was 73 at the beach. It was PERFECT weather. The water was just right. We were suppose to fly to Okeefenokee Swamp and canoe around seeing aligators. But the clouds were to low for Scott to fly us over there. So instead we went to the beach with some friends. We had to so we could say we went to the beach in Dec. Bragging rights you know.

I know I'm the Mom but I have such good looking kids! It is so hard to get him to look at me so I can get this pic.

Thayne's future wife. She is such a cutie. Her mom and I joke (like all mom's do) our children will marry and have such beautiful children. I would love for him to marry her.

Mommy's beautiful princess.

I should have worn a bathing suit. I just wasn't thinking. I was thinking "pictures"

we were the only ones at the beach. It was awsome. We are at ST George Island. Just a huge sand bar off the coast that rich people have homes on.

The best part about beaches here is you see cool things. This is a dead horseshoe crab. California beaches don't have cool stuff like this on their beaches. I have never seen one in the water.
Well I have the official OK from the city folk to let me have my studio. They offer a great opportunty for small business people. They have a small space where 6 starting out business can share. They all have there little space. The city pays the first 6 months of rent and utilities. After that you share in the rent with the other business. There are only 4 there and I will # 5. Rent will only cost about $75 a month. They pay for the sdverstising. well just the start of the advertising (front page newspaper add and stuff). My name will be on the door. This deal is too good to pass up and I will be the only studio in Colquitt. My only competion is 1/2 hour away in any direction. This summer I will be an aprentice to a friend who does weddings on the beach. Working with her will really help my confidence with weddings. I didn't want to do anything for a year but opportunities like this don't happen twice. I really just want it for the clients. This will make it so i don't have to go fishing for clients. the studio will be at the main part of the town. I should be up and running the end of Jan or 1st of Feb. I'm so excited.
The other wonderful news is that Scott will be the main pilot next year. Actually the only pilot unless he needs help. We are so excited.
We are being so blessed and we are truly counting our blessings.

this weekend...

This weekend we actually stayed home. We were going to go visit my cousin in Jacksonville, FL. But he was on call so we will try again another weekend. So since we stayed we were able to be here for the church Christmas party. We had a great turn out. You have never been to a party untill you have heard blue grass being sung at the party. Than you know your in the south! Oh yea and Santa has a southern accent. I don't know if I can get use to that.

Scott sang to all the little kids "Old Toy Trains." It was sweet. The funny part is that he forgot the words. He played it off well and we all laughed with him. Thayne had one off the teenagers cell phone and is to busy taking pic of other kids.
For Family Home Evening we made a ginger bread house. It was tons of fun and Thanye loved it. The best part was we were tring to let Thayne help by holding the ginger bread man. He did so good to not eat him.....until.....well we knew it would happen. We got on him for it and asked him if it tasted good and he said "yes" we laughed so hard.

Kaydee liked eating Sanat's beard.

My son is soooooo not shy! He had alot to say. It was so cute. When Santa walked in the room Thayne droped the cell phone he was playing with and quickly found his way to the front of the kids. He wanted to be sure he saw Santa.

I had three photo shoots set up for this week but due to weather I only had one. This Photoshoot was fun because it wasn't my typical white shirt blue jeans happy family shoot. This kid works for Scott during the summer. The family is good friends of ours. He is so different I had to be creative with his shots.
